UK ‘Voyage of Slaves’ Cover Art

Art by David Wyatt

Blackwell’s Online Bookshop (as well as Amazon.co.uk) has posted the UK cover art for Voyage of Slaves. I’m not sure who the artist behind it is, possibly David Wyatt (although it doesn’t look as sleek as his previous work), but it looks like it’s depicting the same scene as the US cover art.

In addition, LP Forum member LordTBT has pointed out a new summary posted by the Library of Congress:

Continuing their adventures through space and time, Ben and his faithful dog, Ned, find themselves in the Mediterranean region in 1703, befriended by a troupe of traveling entertainers and relentlessly pursued by ruthless Barbary slave traders.

The relevant piece of information is the year (although the “space and time” description is also intriguing). Constructing a chronology of the Flying Dutchman series, we find the progression something like this:

Castaways of the Flying Dutchman – Books 1 & 2 (1620)
The Angel’s Command (1628)
Voyage of Slaves (1703)
Castaways of the Flying Dutchman – Book 3 (1896)

Voyage of Slaves is expected to hit shelves sometime around September 14th, 2006. Stay tuned to the Newsline for more details.
