T-Day

Today is “T-Day”. The Taggerung and A Redwall Winter’s Tale have been released! (Tagg and Tale. ;) Be sure to go out and get them.

What I’ve read of Taggerung so far has been great. Pure BJ. What’s more, Redwall finally has a rep (I couldn’t resist using a Tagg quote for “Quote of the Moment”) and other baddies are named as failures. Cluny, Slagar, and Ferahgo. Ferahgo must be filed under “gaff”, though, since he never attacked Redwall. ;) In any case, the book looks to be a good one. Keep an eye out for my review in a few days.

To mark the occasion, a special Taggerung Discussion board has been added to the Forum. This is a place to discuss The Taggerung without fear of spoiling it for others. If you don’t want the book spoiled, though, stay away.

Also, despite the reports from Redwall.org that Peter Standley illustrated the US cover, it was actually done by none other than Mr. Troy Howell! My profuse apologies, Mr. Howell, for miscrediting your work these past few months.

For those interested, Peter Standley does illustrate the interior and he’s not too bad. A less defined Fangorn-esque style.

Finally, to round out this “Taggerific” day, a bit of news on the audio book front (yet another Newsline exclusive. ;) ) I contacted Listening Library to get some answers over the supposed unabridged audio book Amazon.com listed. The result was a mixed bag. Yes, there is a multi-cast, unabridged recording. Yes, Listening Library was hoping to release it this month. Unfortunately, the rights have not been sold yet and the prospect of Listening Library ever acquiring them are slim. No stateside release has been secured. If, by some twist of fate, they are able to purchase the rights, the earliest it would be released is next Summer. It’s a shame.

That’s all for now. I have a book to read. ;) Sorry for the lack of updates lately– reviews (for both Tagg and RWTV) are on the way. Sit tight!
