Eulalia! and the Redwall: 20th Anniversary Edition have been shelved early at Borders bookstores, which has been the norm these past few years.
While both books have a release date of October 4th (this Thursday), it’s far more likely that you’ll start seeing them elsewhere tomorrow, given that most media (print or electronic) is released on Tuesdays (not Thursdays).
The coloration of the Eulalia! cover has reverted to something closer to its ARC look, as you can see from the scan to the left.
As for the Redwall: 20th Anniversary Edition, it’s been released without the silver “20th Anniversary Edition” sticker seen here. The Newsline was also correct in its analysis here that the cover would be the only new content this edition would boast. There are no new pieces of artwork, no color plates, no introduction by Brian Jacques– absolutely nothing beyond the book itself. Gary Chalk’s original illustrations are included in the book– Troy Howell’s 10th Anniversary Edition illustrations are not.
For all intents and purposes, this is Redwall as it was released twenty years ago with a new dust jacket and that’s it. In some ways, that’s appropriate.
We’ll have a more in-depth look at these books soon. In the meantime, check your local Borders today and any bookstore tomorrow for these books as well as the Redwall Graphic Novel, Redwall Gift Package and the Eulalia! audio book.
Stay tuned to the Newsline for more details.
