Amazon.com has updated its cover of the Redwall: 20th Anniversary Edition to include a silver sticker that reads “20th Anniversary Edition!”. The rest of the cover remains unchanged (save the addition of “A Tale from Redwall” over Brian’s name).
In related news, an unknown product entitled “Redwall 20th Anniversary Gift Package” has been showing up on Amazon’s listings for the past month or so, as visitors of The Long Patrol Forums know. Specifics were lacking. Now, Amazon has posted the cover art (seen right) and we have enough information to theorize as to its contents. Redwall 20thFirst, in addition to the Gift Package, individual items known as “Gift Package Book 1″ and “Gift Package Book 2″ and “Gift Package Book 3″ have also turned up. At $4.00 apiece, these are too cheap and have too short a page count to be actual Redwall novels. Instead, they appear to be paperback releases of Redwall’s three sub-parts– The Wall, The Quest, and The Warrior. (Please note that remains unconfirmed at this point– although it’s very likely.) The Gift Package proper appears to be all three books in a slipcover box that bears the new 20th Anniversary Edition’s cover artwork. It will be released by the Firebird young readers imprint.
Redwall: 20th Anniversary Edition and Redwall 20th Anniversary Gift Package will both hit shelves on October 4th, 2007.
