Well, I certainly enjoyed that little vacation.
As most of you probably noticed, there haven’t been any new RWTV reviews since the 10th of July. The reason is that, upon the completion of the first season, I took some time off to enjoy the summer. A break from reviews was fun.
That said, I’m back now and so are the reviews. The reviews for Episode #14, “Slagar the Slaver“, and Episode #15, “The Magician Revealed“, have been added to RWTV. There will be a few more reviews over the next few days before I settle back into the weekly routine. So, enjoy!
There’s also some pressing news. First, a Redwall DVD has been announced. It’s slated for release in the UK on September 17th, 2001. This is simply the DVD edition of the abridged movie, however. It’s Region 2 encoded, which means it still can’t be played in the US (we use Region 1). Region 2 encompasses Europe, the Middle East, and Japan, so if you live in those areas, or if you have a Region Free DVD player, be sure to pick up the DVD. No word on any extras yet.
Additionally, here are a few book descriptions that have sat in my In-Box during my “vacation”.
For The Taggerung:
The 14th in the Redwall series. A baby otter is kidnapped from Redwall by Sawney Rath’s gang because they believe he’s the legendary Taggerung, possessor of supernatural fighting skills. The otter knows nothing of Redwall until he reaches adolescence and begins to dream of another existence.
After a day of entertainment by the Travelling Thistledown Troupe, the Redwall Abbey youngsters are being told a bed-time story by Bulbrock. He tells them the tale of the mysterious Snow Badger, who comes down to earth every winter to freeze the earth and make the stars shine.
That’s it for today. Again, more reviews are on the way,
